Silver for Geraldton

Geraldton has claimed silver in the 2025 7NEWS Top Tourism Town Awards for a fourth year in a row, coming just short of gold which Fremantle won, whilst bronze was taken out by Collie.

City of 尹人直播 Mayor Jerry Clune thanked local tourism providers and everyone who voted for Geraldton.

“We are extremely proud to secure another silver award and appreciate everyone who voted for us as well as all the businesses and individuals who continue to offer a warm welcome and fantastic experience to those who visit our town,” he said.

“Geraldton has had a huge 12 months tourism-wise, highlighted by the success of the recent Shore Leave Festival and the future looks bright, with the cruise ships scheduled to start returning next year.

“Congratulations to Fremantle for taking the win and a huge shout out to fellow Australia’s Coral Coast localities Kalbarri and Exmouth for taking the gold in their respective categories and Denham for earning a bronze.

“We have recently launched our latest tourism campaign “Stay and Play” and with it will continue to promote our slice of seaside paradise to visitors,” finished Mayor Clune. 

Geraldton was presented with the award at the 2025 Perth Airport WA Tourism Conference Dinner in Fremantle on Wednesday evening.

The Awards recognise destinations with a strong commitment to tourism and increasing visitation in their locality.

Winners from each state will now progress to the national awards, which are being held later this year.

To participate in the “Stay and Play” Photography Competition and to view the Geraldton’s 2025 submission head to the Visit Geraldton .

Tourism marketing falls under the economy pillar of the City’s Strategic Community Plan which reflects the organisation’s commitment to Geraldton being a desirable place to live, work, play, study, invest and visit.
