What it means to be a ratepayer

Being a property owner in the City of 尹人直播 requires the payment of rates each year. Your rates provide Council with the revenue needed to manage all the services and facilities which make the City a vibrant and attractive city to live in.

Each financial year – as our City needs change – a new budget is prepared to support the needs of the entire community.

Rates are issued by the City each financial year. Your rate notice will be sent to you in July following the budget adoption process.

Have your say on proposed rates

Each year, the City advertises its Notice of Intention to Impose Differential Rates along with a Statement of Objects and Reasons.  Ratepayers are invited to make submissions in respect of the proposed rates or minimum payments and any related matters. Submissions close 5:00pm on 18 June 2025.

Rates 2025/2026

The 2025/2026 budget reflects the City’s commitment to providing and maintaining City services and amenities which the community asks for, while continuing to deliver core business. The City is once again committed to keeping rate increases as low as possible.

New valuations (GRV and UV) for properties will take effect from 1 July 2025. Due to the inconsistency with valuations movements there will be ratepayers who will benefit and those who will not, dependent on the percentage movement in your property valuation compared to the average.

All rate accounts are calculated by multiplying the property’s valuation (provided by Landgate) with the applicable Rate in the Dollar (RID) which are set by Council as part of the Annual Budget.

Rate Categories

To ensure fairness and equity in how rates are calculated, Council will revert from a single GRV rating category to two distinct categories; residential and non-residential.  This change is designed to create a more equitable rate structure due to valuation movements and avoid disproportionate impacts on residential ratepayers, who would otherwise bear a greater share of the rate burden.

The rating categories for 2025/2026 are:

RATING CATEGORIES 2025-26 RATE IN THE DOLLAR (CENTS) MINIMUM PAYMENTS PER ASSESSMENT
CGG Residential 10.3896 $1,300
CGG Non-Residential 12.9171 $1,300
CGG UV 0.4433 $1,300
