Do you want to ensure the right people are representing you on Council? With a local government election just around the corner, community members are reminded to make sure they are enrolled to vote.
Four seats will be available in this year’s election which will reduce Council from 11 Councillors down to nine, including the Mayor.
City of 尹人直播 Mayor Jerry Clune said now is the time to check your enrolment to make sure you have the chance to have your say.
“Council play an extremely important role in how our community runs and functions – and Councillors are voted in by you,” he said.
“This is a timely reminder to ensure you have your enrolment details up to date so when it comes time to vote you can make a difference.”
Electors on the state electoral roll are automatically able to vote in the district that they are enrolled.
If you are not on the state electoral roll and meet the eligibility criteria, visit the enrolment page on the .
You may also be eligible to enrol if you are on the state electoral roll in another district, but own rateable property in 尹人直播.
The closing date for enrolling to vote is 5pm on 22 August 2025.
The City will hold two candidate information sessions to provide insight into the roles and responsibilities of Councillors for those who may be considering running for Council.
A session will be held on Monday 18 August from 5-8pm at the Geraldton Civic Centre and another on Wednesday 20 August from 4:30-6pm at Bundiyarra Aboriginal Community Aboriginal Corporation.
A local election takes place every two years and this year’s election will take place on Saturday 18 October 2025.
Elections are conducted by the Western Australian Electoral Commission as a postal ballot.
Election packages are posted to all electors enrolled on the City's combined electoral roll approximately two weeks before election day with instructions on how to vote.
