The Chief Executive Officer advised that as it is the licensed effluent collectors responsibility to seal septics, all effluent contractors within the Shire of Mullewa must be licensed. Council requested that the road be repaired as soon as possible, acknowledging that due to the commitment of work on the Tenindewa-Binnu Road Project, the availability of machinery is limited. Superintendent Alan Gronow addressed Council regarding the Wild West Bike Tour. It is a fund raising event and incorporates five towns within the Midwest, including Mullewa. The date for this event is 14 15 October 2000, arriving in Mullewa at 12 noon on 14 October 2000, participants will require lunch. It is expected to bring up to 1000 people in to the town. Councillor Jenkin entered the meeting at 12:49pm Policing in Mullewa Change To Superintendent Gronow informed Council that there are going to be changes to policing boundaries in Mullewa. Mullewas policing boundaries are to increase to incorporate the pastoralist sector of the region. Police Replacements When questioned by Councillor Wainwright in regards to why Police were not being replaced, Superintendent Gronow informed Council that he is limited in being able to force an Officer to move to Mullewa as they will not perform their duties adequately if they are seconded to a town. New Police Station Progress Of Councillor Messina enquired about the progress of the new Police Station. Superintendent Gronow is supportive of a new Station and recommended that Council write to the Midwest Safer WA Committee.
