Whilst he acknowledged the difficulty in obtaining firm evidence of excessive trailer swaying, he believes it is important that Council pursues this matter. The Chief Executive Officer advised that he would continue to monitor this problem as resources permit. As there was insufficient members remaining to constitute a quorum this matter was not discussed, and was adjourned to the following ordinary meeting of Council. The Chief Executive Officer was directed to approach the Hon Minister for Local Government to seek an exemption under Sections 5.69 and 5.69a of the Local Government Act. A general verbal report of operations was presented with special emphasis on gravel road conditions. The following items were directed to the Works Supervisor for attention: Ardingly South Road The Devils Creek crossing needs cleaning out Field Tanker This Tanker does not have a workable pump handle. Mr Marwick was requested to review practicality of field tanker pumps and make appropriate adjustment. Tardun-Pindar Road Crossing at Deans Road requires a Stop sign and visibility improved by clearing of scrub. Fegan Road At intersection with Curara Swamp Road needs truncation. Tenindewa North Road Bus Stop sign needs to be relocated to Dunkin Road. Cement Stabilised Crossings Grading of these crossings is a cause for concern and it was recommended that the crossings be marked with flags. Mr Marwick left the meeting at 4:01pm.  TC "MINUTE NO. The Chief Executive Officer advised that this is not a gazetted tip site. The Council had sought to clean up this area within the Tardun townsite, but the community had requested it remain, and it would manage any dumping at the site.  TC "ROAD TRAINS" \f C \l "1" ROAD TRAINS Councillor L M Newman advised that he has sighted three road trains between Mullewa and Dean Road on the Wubin-Mullewa Road. The Chief Executive Officer was requested to contact Main Roads WA re usage.  TC "PLAYGROUNDS SAFETY OF" \f C \l "1" PLAYGROUNDS SAFETY OF Councillor Jenkin advised that it was his understanding that playgrounds should now have rubber surfaces (soft fall) to avoid liability in the case of an accident. The Chief Executive Officer advised that his office had not been made aware of any specific requirements of landing areas for playgrounds.  TC "SKELETON WEED SEARCHES" \f C \l "1" SKELETON WEED SEARCHES  Councillor Freeman expressed concern at the proposal to no longer use minimum-security prisoners to search for Skeleton Weed. It is his understanding that searching in this northern agricultural region will be put out to tender, thereby reducing its effectiveness. Council resolved that the Agriculture Protection Board be requested to continue to provide labour from the Greenough Prison.
