CARRIED 6/0  TC "BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:" \f C \l "1"  BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES:  TC "MINUTE NO. 9907.04: WILLIAMS ROAD RAILWAY CROSSING" \f C \l "1"  MINUTE NO. 9907.04: WILLIAMS ROAD RAILWAY CROSSING The Chief Executive Officer advised that he had contacted the Regional Office of Main Roads WA to ascertain the progress on upgrading the Williams Road railway crossing. He was advised that a Consulting Engineer has been appointed and has undertaken a preliminary design of improvements to Williams Road which will be made available to the Council. An on site meeting with representatives from Council, staff and MRWA will be held as soon as possible. He also advised that permission has been given from the landowner to clear site restricting vegetation from within his property. Councillor L M Newman entered the meeting at 2:23pm.  TC "MINUTE NO. 9907.11: SINGLE PERSON HOUSING PROVISION OF" \f C \l "1"  MINUTE NO. 9907.11: SINGLE PERSON HOUSING PROVISION OF The Shire President advised that it would be necessary to identify two suitable blocks of land which could be available within the Mullewa townsite for construction of housing for GEHA rental purposes. Some land has been identified and enquiries are proceeding as to ownership and purchase cost. He was directed to contact the affected landowner and to acquaint him with the results of his investigation and to ensure that the obligations of Council in this matter have been met. An on site inspection of proposed works is proposed. The meeting determined that the expense for such a project could not be justified given the location of public conveniences within the townsite, and the Chief Executive Officer was directed to ensure that appropriate signage directing the public to the nearest convenience was erected.  TC "POLOCROSSE CLUB HOT WATER SYSTEM" \f C \l "1"  POLOCROSSE CLUB HOT WATER SYSTEM Councillor Thurkle advised that the Mullewa Polocrosse Club had determined that, in exchange for the strong support from Council, it would donate to it the 3 phase electric storage hot water system which is surplus to the Clubs requirements. The Shire President thanked Councillor Thurkle and asked him to extend to the Club Councils appreciation.  TC "RECREATION CENTRE TOKEN MACHINE" \f C \l "1"  RECREATION CENTRE TOKEN MACHINE Councillor Thurkle advised that a constituent had expressed concern that the Mullewa Netball Club was not receiving the full time of the lights for the basketball courts. The Chief Executive Officer was requested to investigate and to resolve any problems assoicated with token meters at the Recreation Centre.  TC "NANGETTY-WALKAWAY ROAD DRAINAGE" \f C \l "1"  NANGETTY-WALKAWAY ROAD DRAINAGE  Councillor Fred Newman advised that there are continuing problems with water ponding and poor drainage on the north side of the Nangetty-Walkaway Road approximately 300m inside Councils boundary. He advised that, in addition to ponding, there is longitudinal tracking of the bitumen surface. The Chief Executive Officer was directed to have the Shire Engineer inspect the works and determine the extend of remedial action.  TC "GRAY STREET PARKLAND DEVELOPMENT" \f C \l "1"  GRAY STREET PARKLAND DEVELOPMENT Councillor Thomas requested that the area of ground opposite the Railway Hotel in Gray Street be tidied up prior to the tourist season.
